Wireless Air Pods are also available in the market.

Ability to get music very easily to your ears is a necessary part of a Smartphone now according to the world. Whenever technology companies take a step away from what we used to cause a mix of critics always.

The headphone jack is a small 3.5mm round connector present mostly at the bottom of your phone to accept the pin-shaped plug from the standard music headphones pair. They became popular Sony Walkman was launched in 1979. They are referred to as TRS connectors technically.

What the headphone jack does is that it simplifies the connection between your ears and the amplifier. It helps to isolate the unwanted sound for the best available sound quality. The TRRS plug is not only cheap, but it is sustainable, small and high in quality. The headphone jack socket has a great advantage over the USB-C, micro USB, Apple's 15-pin and other Lightning adapter and connectors.

The best part about a headphone jack is that it can support the cheapest headphones as well as the best headphones with one universal standard. Isn't it great! But there’s more to it. The headphone jack allows you to use microphones as well. They are also well suited for low-frequency transmissions such as audio and electric power.

The inconvenience of the headphone jack

The inconvenience of the headphone jack

Yes, It's all about discomfort and inconvenience of the headphone jack.  The metal plug part of the headphones jack can easily be worn out, especially if it is gold-coated. The biggest issue that wired earphones user face is the tangled cord.  Nobody really loves to untangle their earphone cords when you want to hear the music. Not suitable for LC high-frequency electronics due to cable design; the FM radio transmissions are about the limit. There’s no locking mechanism, as the headphone gets older, the earphones pull out easily.

What will happen if smartphone removes headphone jack?

The 3.5mm jack is a standard feature of many devices, including smartphones of different designs and models but it is changing. The smartphone companies are ditching the headphone jack and replacing with a USB type C connector, now intended for audio output. They have many reasons to do so. No headphone jack means that their phone can slim down by 1 to 2 mm as thin phones are so trendy nowadays. The USB type C and lightning cable will be able to transmit and convert digital signals better as these are designed to transmit data and provide superior audio output than the 3.5mm headphone jack. If you buy any new phone, keep that in mind that your current headphones pair won’t work. The good news is that LeEco and Motorola supply an adapter that allows the users to use current headphones. But that’s probably not the case with iPhones.

A possible problem among users may be the inability to charge their phones while listening to music. Sorry to say, there's only one port. You won't be able to charge your phone and listen to music at the same time. And there's no denying that wireless accessories eat up the phone's power.  So that extra battery space power will go towards the Bluetooth wireless earphones. You better forget about using the AUX cable to connect your car's sound system to the phone. You will now have to purchase the Lightning accessories.

Apple said bye to the headphones jack

Apple said bye to the headphones jack

Apple said that having a headphone jack in your phone is unnecessary and called this designing iPhones with no headphone jack as ‘courage’. They that this move is coming out of the need for courage to do something better. The users now rely on earpods and lightning-connector headphones.

Apple says that no headphone jack has some advantages as it has released valuable phone space that has gone to other functions like the dual camera setup, the Taptic button press engine, the water resistance and a 14 percent larger battery were all made possible by removing the 3.5 mm headphone jack.

The phone is thinner now. Apple can increase the size of the battery or even increase screen size without changing the device's footprint. Lightning headphones and wireless are the new deal which will make you forget the 3.5 mm headphone jack. The Lightning headphones connect through the Lightning connector and use power from the phone to provide better audio quality.

A smartphone with no headphone jack definitely means that Bluetooth headphones will be the new talk of the town because the majority of listeners do not own Bluetooth headphones at present. Wireless Bluetooth earphones are not only about music files; it's all about comfort and convenience.

They are also beneficial for the sports market as dangling wires can get in the way while running. The comfort of multi-speaker, multi-user, multi-room wireless systems is a rising trend for many consumers. The advantage of wireless is that it provides a fast connection to everything else rather than competing with the cave of the audiophile.

The smart technology will make the phones without headphone jack in the future

The decision of companies to release phones with no headphone jack is their way to advance technology. Apple and other smartphone companies will never consider making bulkier devices to put a 3.5 mm headphone jack into an all-screen phone. What is clear from their decision is that people have to struggle with new change.

We will have to wait for some more months before we say bye to the headphone jack. Unfortunately, the common headphone jack will become history on smartphones soon being replaced by wireless Bluetooth. The smartphone companies say that all goes wireless sooner or later.
