That’s right, you don’t have to pay any subscription fee, purchase any characters or provide your bank account details. Instead, just click on the links provided, and you can start playing your favorite game right away.
Best Free PC Games 2018
Below mentioned in the list of best free PC games 2018:
Remember Defiance, the sci-fi MMO shooter launched in 2013? Unless you are a gaming nerd, chances are that you won’t. For, despite boasting excellent graphics and serious gameplay, Defiance was terribly underappreciated by the market.
That won’t be the fate of Defiance 2050, however. Not only does it comes with a brand new name, Defiance 2050 offers upgraded textures, higher resolutions, better graphics and an all-new story to hook you in.
As for the gameplay, you’ll be transported to Defiance’s 2050 vision of San Francisco on a survival mission. Once there, you’ll engage in brutal skirmishes and story-driven missions while armed with a cache of distinct weapons. And if you want some old-school fighting, there’s the option of white-knuckled combat, too.
Set against the backdrop of space opera, Warframe is an action-shooter classic from Digital Extremes. In order to survive – and get resources – the main character of the game has to complete missions. Provided you succeed in doing that, you achieve a level up and entry to other planets beyond earth.
What forced us to include Warframe in this review is the content of this game. In addition to the earth, you’ve at least 11 different planets with the same number of missions on each planet. Fortunately, the levels are so generated that every one of them is different, so you won’t grow bored playing the game.
Frame-to-frame, you’ll have the option to shoot with a wide array of guns, all of which perform differently. Then there are different suits of armor or Warframe, with each offering a unique set of features. Supplemented by gameplay mechanics, these suits will do much more than just giving you different skin tone.
Finally, though it isn’t required, you can also spend money on this game for two features: reduced grind and aesthetic options. Still, if you don’t want, you can play this game without spending a dime.
Fortnite Battle Royale
Thanks to some football players – who adopted Fortnite in their post-goal celebrations, the game has become an overnight sensation across the world. However, as you might guess, that isn’t the only reason why this game has had over 10 million downloads.
Instead, the lure of the game lies in its simplicity. As the game kicks off, you find yourself dumped in with a map with 99 other players, all of whom are engaged in a free-for-all. The winner is the one lucky person who remains standing at the end.
The meteoric success of the game has allowed Epic Games to provide it with new features and modes. Take, for instance, the Playground Mode. While it dumps you right away like other modes, you’re given time to build structures for a specific time before the floodgates open and the melee begins.
Path of Exile
Love classic dungeon crawlers attuned to the style of Diablo III? Then you’ll absolutely love this game. Undoubtedly, the pace of the game is slow when compared with other multi-players of the same genre, give it some time and you’ll be addicted to its loot gathering.
Once you start playing it for hours, there are hidden depths to uncover and skill trees to trek. And even if you are a beginner – which means you can’t get your way across the premium loots – you’ll still have something to get in basic loots.
All in all, if you love playing Diablo III – but want a different game in the same genre for a change – Path of Exile might just be the best free steam game for you.
Exactly two years before Destiny was unveiled, Planetside 2 was everybody’s favorite for first-person battle combats. From the very start, the game’s protagonist finds himself taking part in a massed assault on an enemy base.
As you might guess, the enemy which you’ll try to annihilate is anything but docile, with the result that you’ll have to see out serious assaults every minute. Add to this the fear of the enemy convoy – which features intermittently but viciously – and you’ve all the hallmarks of a first-person classic.
Hence, if you ever needed proof that free games can also be inspiring, Planetside 2 deserves your attention.
League of Legends
Unless you haven’t been living under a cave for the last few years, it is extremely likely that you’d have heard of League of Legends. Combining the intensity of RPG with the speed of RTS elements, it contains two teams of powerful champions, each looking for ways to finish the other.
League of Legends is a fast-paced, competitive online game that blends the speed and intensity of an RTS with RPG elements. Two teams of powerful champions, each with a unique design and playstyle, battle head-to-head across multiple battlefields and game modes.
With an ever-expanding roster of champions, frequent updates and a thriving tournament scene, League of Legends offers endless enjoyment for players of every skill level.
Turning our attention to its gameplay, you get to choose from a plethora of battlefields as well as numerous game modes. Also, if you don’t feel like indulging in a multi-player slugfest at any time, the game gives you the option of trying your luck against similarly-skilled bots.
Finally, while the game can’t be mastered overnight, you’ll start having fun the moment you hits its ‘play’ button.
Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft
Ever fell in love with Magic the Gathering, the card game? If your answer to this question is in the affirmative, you’ll love Hearthstone, which is Blizzard’s free online version of the same.
Fortunately, while the name is different, the awesomeness is the same. The game is incredibly easy to play. It means you won’t have to go through the learning curve which befuddles the users of other online card games.
Still, the fact that it is easy to play doesn’t mean it’s easy to win. Provided you are matched against an opponent who plays his card right, you’ll be up against it. That means you can only be sure of your victory after weeks of practice.
Star Wars: The Old Republic
When it was released in 2011, Star Wars: The Old Republic wasn’t free. Fortunately, sense has now prevailed and we now have a free-to-play model of the same. So, if you are a fan of having Sith kicks, this game is for you.
That said, if you want more end-game content and in-game potential, you’ll still have to pay. The story missions, fortunately, are all available for free. However, as one might guess, the latter option isn’t as exciting as the former one.
Still, if you want to see the universe from a different set of eyes – like the extremely-professional Bounty Hunter and Imperial Agent – you can totally do that with Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Forza Motorsport 6 Apex
Two years ago, Xbox head Phil Spencer made an interesting announcement; he was going to provide PC users with the console’s best franchises. Fortunately for us, he wasn’t joking, as the PC version of Forza Motorsport 6 Apex might tell.
Granted, you won’t get the 4k screens and racing wheels on the free version – though you can get them after paying a modest price – the game still has plenty of dough to offer. And unless you want to conquer really advanced modes, the free version should suffice.
Fan of Mortal Combat action? Then have a go at this classic retro game, one which features combat moves and special skills. More importantly, while you can continue fighting with the one free character on offer, you can also purchase additional ones a la carte.
That means you don’t have to spend a truckload of cash on a group of characters you’ll never play with. And if you are an Xbox fan, this game gives you another reason to try it. For, it gives you the option to choose from a variety of Xbox mascots, including Rash, General RAAM, and Halo.
World of Tanks
Sometimes, one grows bored of playing mortal combat games. If you are currently passing through one of those times, World of Tanks might be a lifesaver. Multiplayer and team-based, it lets you engage in the battlefield with a wide range of war machines.
Once in the battlefield, you’ll be fighting a two-pronged war. Not only will you have to take care of the enemy, but you’ll also have to make sure to be surrounded by your teammates all the time. Otherwise, as you may learn the hard way, loners won’t survive a moment on the battlefield.
Think World of Tanks is too classic for your liking? That means War Thunder might just be the game for you. Involving a deadly combo of fighting planes and battle tanks – not to mention airplanes – this game is one step ahead of the tank battler.
As for the game modes, there are two of them: arcade battles and historical battles. While the former will be over in a few minutes, you can go for historical battles if you have a few hours to spare. Regardless of which mode you choose to play, the visual quality will be appealing in both.
That said, while the game is free to download, the advanced planes and tanks are anything but. That means as the game goes on to advanced levels, you’d have no option but to spend if you want to survive on the battlefield.
Have a dream to ride on a Landshark? Agree, that’s a peculiar dream, but one you can fulfill with the Rift game. Focused on events that comprise entire spectrums, this game has been a worthy challenger to World of Warcraft.
That doesn’t mean, however, that Rift is based on the gameplay of World of Warcraft; far from it. The game has innumerable interdimensional rifts, ambitious missions, and exciting modes to retain its uniqueness.
And the best thing about this game? It’s free to download.
The fact that Runescape has stayed strong for almost a decade means it now deserves our attention. The game got a new look in 2013 when it entered its third reboot, and it has never looked back since. What’s more, it is one of the biggest – if not the biggest – free-to-play MMO out there.
For a change, Runescape doesn’t require you to connect to the internet to play it. Instead, provided you have data to burn, you can download the entire game at once to play it at leisure. Or, if you want to test your mettle against online gamers, you can run Runescape in your browser as well.
And the best part about this game? It only requires Java to run in your browser.
Fan of third-person co-operative shooters like Call of Duty? Then Warframe deserves your attention. From its start, the players get the help of members of Tenno, which is an ancient race at war with its enemies.
While you’re busy fighting the enemy races – which has exotic names like the Infested, the Corpus, the Sentients, and the Grineer – your fell-w Tenno soldier will be on your side to fight back. Needless to say that both of you will be equipped with a cache of weapons and shiny toys to fight back.
Team Fortress 2
Coming from Valve, Team Fortress 2 is a multiplayer shooter with an artful style and cartoonish bent. And while the range of heroes to pick from is small, that’s the only not-so-good thing about this game. For, it offers a truckload of weapons, maps, and modes.
And if you are into customization, there is a handsome amount of items available to serve that very purpose. Needless to say, however, that the customization items don’t come for free. Then comes the AI mode where two sets of online players can co-opt to fight a common enemy together.
Finishing with a glance at its modes, there are many of them, including King of the Hill, Payload, and our favorite Capture the Flag. All of them are available for free so you don’t have to pay to play them.
Here’s the life cycle most MMOs follow: release as a subscription service, witness player numbers decrease after the initial excitement, before announcing the game is free-to-download. Admirably, Neverwinter from Cryptic Studios skipped straight to the end.
The best thing about Neverwinter is that it realizes that only humans will play it. Hence the reason why it places more focus on action and less on inventory management. Its story, which it borrows from Dungeons and Dragons multiverse, is high quality. Same is the case with its voice-over which has become better with every update.
The best part about this game is that it lets you create your own adventures. Yes, you read that right, every player can custom-create their own dungeon, quest, or even the entire campaign. Provided you are the one doing that, you also have the option to release your custom-mode for others to play.
Even though 2 decades have passed since its release, Magic: The Gathering, the forerunner of modern-day Collectible Card Games, remains popular. Fortunately, with the “Magic Duels”, the game has moved into digital space.
Even on its free version, Magic Duels provides a list of 1,300 cards to choose from. Just like its physical counterpart, Magic Duels allows you to create your own deck or use pre-built ones. You have the option to either go head-to-head or try your luck in two-versus-two.
Plus, you get five single-player campaigns, where each campaign is dedicated to a major character. And while the game gives you the option to purchase in-game currency, you can earn that currency by winning games as well. That means there is no need for you to spend money while playing Magic Duels.
2:22 AM is a game created for a contest with a theme of public access television. As suggested by the term “2:22 AM”, it takes into account the guilt one feels when they have stayed up too late, before straying towards the odd channels.
It is at this time that the main protagonist of the game starts to feel weird. Next comes an inevitable headache behind their eyes. To know what happens next, you can play the game at the belowmentioned link.
Ever felt bored or unsure what to do with your spare time? Well, if your answer is in the affirmative, the protagonist of this game shares your feelings. The game drops it into a little solar system, with next to no command on what to do next.
You are stuck in a time loop which means that no matter what you try, time won’t pass. As you hop from one planet to the other, there’s a nice range of mysteries and little surprises to cover. Thanks to its delightful gameplay, Outer Wilds has already won two IGF awards.
The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall
Want to embark on an adventure that will take months to unravel? Then you’ll love going on a trip with Bethesda while discovering the mysteries of Elder Scroll. Right from the word go, this epic product evokes the memories of legendary RPGs of old.
Turning our attention to its gameplay, and you get to choose your player from a list of 18 classes. And while this game has an absorbing storyline, you can, if you want to, take your character out of the complex tales. That is what we recommend as that is exactly where most surprises lie.
In case you have been living under a cave for the last three decades, SimCity comprises an open-ended simulation. The game allows you to build your own city from scratch, which means you can take care of various problems even before they sprout out.
Ever since the game was launched in 1989, it has seen 10 updates, with the most recent coming in Update 10. The latest update allows you to play the game without connecting to the internet. That means you can save maps multiple times on your hard drive.
Set against a post-apocalyptic landscape located in North Canadian Rockies, Darwin Project requires you to prepare for an impending Ice Age. This experiment is half live-entertainment and half science experiment.
All the participants in the game are required to survive the cold and betray death in an extremely cold, treacherous arena. The best thing about this game is its manhunt feature; which is exactly what the name suggests. If you want to survive, you have no choice but to lay traps to track down your fellow participants. Otherwise, if you show humanity, someone will trick you up.
Doki Doki Literature Club
Play it for the first time, and you might mistake DokiDoki for yet another dating simulation game. It is only after you spend some time on it that you realize what this game is all about. It is a psychological horror game which sticks to its genre.
The game’s first mission is relatively innocuous, that of a literature club trying to gain membership to a school. However, the game shows its true colors when one of the members die, leaving all others in anguish. So unusual is the gameplay from here that even your saved files cannot remain unaffected by it.
Want to know what happens next? Play the game.
World of Warships
Some of us will be satisfied with the World of Tanks. Others might not find its battlefields wet enough. In case you belong to the latter category, World of Warships is for you. Right away at the game’s onset, you’re asked to command a navy which is about to get into the throes of war.
Fortunately, the controls of the game are simple, which means you don’t have to spend much time to get a grip on them. Their simplicity also allows you to devise tactics to outmaneuver your enemy. And if that wasn’t enough, you also get to control an airplane flying overhead to secure your forces.
Star Trek Online
Some of us have dreams in which we control a starship. Others want to fight deadly aliens while exploring the peripheries of the galaxy. There are still others who want to train a crew of pangalactic mercenaries. Provided you want to do all three of these things – and also at once – Star Trek Online is for you.
This game is divided into episodes, with each new mission taking you into depths of our universe. Also on offer are filler episodes, though they aren’t as consistent as we’d like them to be. Still, despite this minor “shortcoming”, the Star Trek Online is a must-have for every true Trekkie.
Coming from the software houses of South Korean company Wizet, this RPG takes its players in the “Maple World”. Once there, you get to know more about the people which inhabited this centuries’ old civilization. However, you are anything but a bystander in this game.
Instead, as you are observing people around you, you get trapped in a conflict as old as the time itself. It is how you extricate yourself from this situation that defines what the game is all about. The game allows you to choose from over 40 classes and allows you to interact with at least a dozen color NPCs.
Inspired by the Civilization Series of Sid Meier, Freeciv gives you turns to formulate your strategy in its multiplayer setting. You get to play the role of leaders in 4000 BC, however, what happens next is a bolt out of the blue.
For, unlike human beings, you get to live through centuries. Therefore, while you were born in the hunting age, the onus of guiding your community through the IndustrialRevolution also falls on your shoulders. You then move into the Space Age, one where you get to colonize space. In the meantime, the game awards different civilizations points based on their culture, scientific advances and wealth.
Guild Wars 2
Of all the MMOs mentioned in this review, Guild Wars 2 is undoubtedly the best, period. Even better, unlike other MMOs, a lion’s portion of this game comes across as free. The scenarios are also large in number and, most importantly, thought-provoking.
For instance, where at one moment you’re attending a zone event to plan to bring down a boss. At the other, you are scheming on how to help a burning village. It also offers the backlog of Living World stories. That means you can see, explore and get involved with plenty of stuff in this game.
Belonging to the multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) genre, Everquest takes you to the world of Norrath. This is a world which is populated by fascinating characters with extreme strength and unbelievable power.
However, these people also face problems of extreme proportions. And now that you’re one of them, they expect you to do the same. While you do that, you earn amazing rewards and unlock treasures which earn you distinction.
As for the gameplay, this game allows extreme character customization. For instance, you can choose between appearance, deity, class, and even race. You also get to choose from a range of weaponry and magic spells.
Paladins is a team-based game where every participant has to become a member of one of the two teams at war with each other. Or, if you don’t like fighting with friends, you can co-opt them and take care of your combined adversary.
As far as the gameplay of Paladins is concerned, gaming nerds will testify its similarity to Blizzard’s titan’s as a murder simulator. What separates this game from Blizzard, however, is the cost. For you can get it at a fraction of Titan’s cost.
Moving on the same lines as Dota 2 and League of Legends, Smite consists of a team of five players, with every team fighting to make their way into the opponent’s base. What is not present, however, is a top-down view of the battlefield.
Instead, to give you a more realistic account, you are given a third-person’s perspective. That means your focus is switched from tactics to action. And while both DOTA 2 and League of Legends contained colorful fantasy characters, Smite features demigods of real religions.
My personal favorite, Warface takes you straight into the battlefield, where you are on your own. Yes, you have the armor and arms, but the luxury of overflying airplanes and rolling tanks is no longer there. So, if you have to survive amid the mind-numbing fighting, you’ve to stay on guard at all times.
That is not to say, however, that you’ll be fighting alone in Warface. Instead, to make sure that you live, you’ll have a team besides you. However, since the team will also be facing bullets, every man would be on his own in the battlefield.
The participants of the game are required to choose their DOTA 2 heroes from a collection of hundreds. Once they do that, two teams of five are thrust into the battlefield. Their only mission is to destroy the base of their opponent.
It is, by no stretch of the imagination, a mean feat. Apart from being guarded by powerful towers, the opponent’s base has waves of creatures, not to mention guards of their own. So you’ll have to be at your best and pray that your teammate is at his’ as well. Otherwise, the chances of success will be next to nothing.
Play/Download For Free
A critically acclaimed game, Wildstar followed the trajectory of other MMOs in the past. For, before being available for free to play, it charged premium for its services. The game takes place against the backdrop of Nexus planet, where a powerful race has disappeared.
Your mission, however, isn’t to trace the race. Instead, you have to explore the wealth of technology and secrets which it has left behind. The gameplay of Wildstar consists of PvP combat, dungeons, and quests.
It also uses telegraphs for combat, which means you’ll know when an enemy is about to launch an attack. While this might seem advantageous, your enemy also has the same data at its disposal. That means you have to cast your spells with extreme precision to damage your enemy.
If you wish to take charge of a massive airship in real life, you’ll need to spend bucket-loads of cash and undergo hours of training. In Dreadnought, however, you can navigate massive spaceships at absolutely zero cost.
On offer in Dreadnought are earth-shattering weapons which are customizable down to their last level. The ensuing combat, which is bound to take place, will be a combination of slow, piercing strikes and rapid, broadside assaults.
Lastly, if you are able to survive, not only will you get a pat on the back from your teammates but also a new fleet of ships. Therefore, if the lust for survival wasn’t enough, the lure of new ships should be enough to keep you going.
My father’s Long Long Legs
Imagine the father of someone you know come home one day, only to start digging a hole in their house’s basement. Now presume that the person does the same stuff day in day out, coming up only to drink, eat and use the bathroom. And once the factory of the man closes, he goes down the basement, never to come up again.
This game revolves around the same fictional tale, with an added horror provided you have your headphones on. And if you’re brave enough to turn off the lights of your room, this game will take the dimension of the best horror story that you never read.
You know a game has done pretty well when it is mentioned in Forbes. The focus of the game is on creating an epic battle experience, one where you get the feel of plotting a mech. Despite the fact that it is an indie title, this game has some stunning graphics.
Beyond graphics, the movement of the mechs – as well as the control scheme – feels great, too. Also, while it offers only one mech at the start, you can earn in-game currency to gain access to others. That means you’ll have to expend many hours before getting the serious stuff on Hawken.
LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE
Want to taste the experience of the most famous fantasy setting there ever was? Turbine’s MMO takes you to Tolkien’s Middle-earth, where you get to meet everyone from Mordor to the Shire. In the process, you get to buildup a character which will have to 1vs.1 Sauron one day.
Also on offer – though not recommended to visit – is the LOTRO Store. The reason why we aren’t recommending it is that it’s the store where you’ll have to spend money. Some premium players do just that.
HEX: SHARDS OF FATE
Just like Hearthstone, Hex is a cardgame, but it only allows to plays to play at once. Its rules are a little bit more complex but the game, on the whole, is rewarding. Before the game kicks off, both players are provided with 20 draw and health cards. You can use them to cast spells on and summon creatures against each other.
Or if that’s your trick, you can use your spell and creature in the union to make for a deadly combination. Hundreds of different cards are on offer, and you can get them either through payment or via reaching higher levels within the game.
Heroes of the Storm
Since it is published by Blizzard Entertainment, Heroes of the Storm features characters from other Blizzard franchises as well. The heroes include but are not limited to, Warcraft, Diablo, The Lost Vikings, Overwatch, andStarcraft.
Since it features so many heroes, it is only apt for Blizzard to call this game an online “hero brawler”. You get to take part in online 5v5 matches by logging on to Battle.net. Also, it is your decision whether you want to compete against AI or other players.
One area where this game lacks, at least initially, is the lack of permanence of heroes. Yup, you heard that right: you won’t be able to use your favorite hero permanently at the start. That means you’d have to earn the in-game currency – which is titled gold coins – to get permanent access.
Another Online game belonging to the MMORPG genre, this game imparts you with immortality. However, that doesn’t mean you are immune to attacks, for immortality comes at a cost. You have to battle with armies of hostile gods to protect your realm. And if you want to become an ultimate god, you’ve to beat all those enemies.
One thing which differentiates this game from other MMOs is what it calls its “prestige” system. This system advances you in the game based on the sum total of your progression and stats. That, in turn, means you can play across multiple classes at a time.
Sounds confusing? Well, it isn’t. Still, if you need further proof, go check Skyforge on the aforementioned link.
World of Warplanes
Imagine once again the backdrop of World of Tanks. Now imagine you have applied the same concept to the skies. Stop imagining now; as now you have the World of Warplanes. Comprising of biplanes and jet bombers, it is a game of dizzying dogfights and whirling bombing runs.
And if that wasn’t enough, every new update to this game is making it sleeker and shinier. That means the chances of you getting bored with its gameplay are pretty slim.
Heroes and Generals
Some of us want to shoot all the guns. Others want to undertake all the decisions. Then there are others who want to do both these things. If you feel like belonging to the third category, Heroes and Generals is a must-play title for you.
This game starts with decisions being made back at the headquarters, with you making most of them. Then, you’re shifted to the battlefield, where you’ve to adjust those decisions with the realities of real-life. That is a real test, as that will take the best out of your decision-making skills.
For those of you who are into puzzle-solving games, Dwarf Fortress offers something unique to befuddle your mind. You set up industries, mine materials and taking care of the whims of the nobles. If that wasn’t difficult enough, you also have to keep guard to protect against goblin attacks.
Also, no matter how many times you play it, every new session brings a new world. And the world isn’t lacking in details. For it contains drainage and rainfall overlays, elevation maps, and vegetation growth patterns. Add to this the need to build a fortress, and you have a truly exciting game at your hands.
Dragons & Dungeons Online
This MMORPG leaves its characters in a vastly unexplored locale, Xen’drik. Apart from having a Harbor and a Marketplace, Xen’drik is also a home to five Dragonmarked houses. However, the suspense goes much beyond the city walls.
For, it is when you move beyond them that you explore new adventures and conquests. You get to create your character from a wide array of choices. These characters, in turn, help you navigate both the indoor and outdoor environments within the game.
In the light of these facts, therefore, it won’t be wrong to say that D&D is one of the best free steam games.
As is the case with most MMOs, Trove takes you an adventure of a mysterious land by the same name. Dungeons are filled with the forces of shadow, and your friends could also add to them through customization. The game also doesn’t dictate you what to do. Instead, you can both hunt treasure in a far-off land or build realms of your own in this game.
As for the characters, Trove is inundated with them. You get to choose from a list of headless knights, salty pirates, foxy lancers, dinosaur tamers, and more. You can also teach your friends a lesson by knocking off their blocks in Trove’s very own Battleverse.
Realm of the Mad God
The Realm of the Mad Dog takes place in an 8-bit styled backdrop where you and your fellow players are dropped amid hordes of aggressive monsters. Described as a “bullet hell MMO” by its developer, its screen is often clouded with dozens of projectiles as you exchange artillery fire with your enemies.
Provided you are lucky/brave enough to withstand the onslaught, you are rewarded with an incredulous amount of loot. That gives you the incentive to come back and keep taking down baddies.

Ever wondered why people switch to PC Gaming from Xbox or PS4? Well, one of the reasons is that games like Blacklight: Retributionis for free on this platform. On the surface, you might think that this game is nothing but a shooter.
It is only after you spend some time playing the game that you realize it is anything but. Not only you can customize the appearance of your character, but you can also control their speed, the number of weapons they have. What’s more, you can also design such a character which complements your play style.
For instance, to give you one example of its customization, this game starts with your character having a basic assault rifle. Afterward, as you earn in-game points, you can change the gun’s barrel, stock, clip and even sight.
Therefore, if you live to tinker with your items, Blacklight: Retribution is one of the best free PC games out there.
An extremely demanding game, StarCraft II requires you to have a deep knowledge of three different positions at one time. This game also requires you to outmaneuver your opponents, not on the battlefield but in decision making, with both long and short-term decisions equally important.
What’s more, StarCraft II initially required a subscription for installation and online playing. While the subscription requirement remains in the former scenario, you can play the game for free over the Internet. However, once you move past level 5 on co-op, you’d have to start paying to move forward.
Just like Blacklight: Retribution mentioned above, Wolfenstein 3-D is a fun playing experience for shooter fans. It takes you through repetitive mazes on a Nazis-killing mission. In the meantime, you have nothing to eat but turkey legs.
However, for a game which was unveiled in 1992, we can’t help but stay that Wolfenstein 3D is a product of its time. That means only those gamers who want to renew the nostalgia of those halcyon days would find it appealing.
Talk about story generation, and it doesn’t get any better than CCP’s Eve Online. The game gives you the opportunity to reshape the universe in unrivaled beauty, opportunity, and depth. Or if you want, you can be one of those who destroy it.
Then there’s another mode, which allows you to embark on a ship to find your own New World. Or if you are not into exploring, you can follow the lead of past conquerors to conquer far-flung territories.
Conclusion for Best Free PC Games
Think gaming can be pricey? That was the question which we asked you at the start of this article. Hopefully, now that you have seen the list of best free PC games on PC, you could say with confidence that the answer to this question is in negative.
Still, our list is by no means exhaustive. Therefore, if you think there is a worthy game which we missed out, please feel free to let us know in the comments box.
